My One and Only Political Post

Quit yer bitchin politicians. Do something right for a change. Money is what makes the world go 'round. If you take more than your fare share you stand alone in a world that will give you no compassion or sympathy. People will turn their backs on you and walk away.
Is it best to be isolated from the world with material gains and no friendships or would you rather have people like you for making a difference towards bettering this country?

You have every opportunity to gain the confidences of the people by making the right decisions. This means making the decisions based on what the people want not what YOU want. We didn't vote you into office to work for yourself. You are there to work for US. The United States of America. This isn't the United States of YOU.

We are the people who put you there and we can take you out. Voting is the simplest thing a person can ever do and if you don't shut up, sit down and get to work you will not have a job, just like the millions that go to bed hungry and sad and worried about tomorrow.

Quit taking jabs at each other. This is supposed to be a democracy. This country was founded on the premise of being free from tyranny. But here lately the only thing you politicians can think of is how bad the other person is. You fight constantly. You treat the American people, you know, the one's who voted for you and who believe in this country and who by contrast is paying your bills, like we're a bunch of stupid idiots.

We vote for you because we have hope that you will make things right. Every single one of you have let us down. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Too bad we can't just put you back in the bag and take you back to the store and make an exchange the minute you break down. Maybe that should be a law.

Worst Drivers and Cops Driving

There's a reason I titled this post the way I did and it will become prevalent shortly.

Talking about the way people drive could take several posts, but I will try to narrow it down to just a handful of the worst.

I've been doing a lot of night driving for quite a few years and I've noticed that more and more people have become blind. It amazes me how many of you out there insist on driving with your lights on bright. Yes, it's dark out but the lines on the road are consistent. They don't waver nor do they disappear if your lights are on low beam.
Are you thinking that maybe there might be an animal or a person walking on the road? Sure, I can understand that, but when you approach a hill, a curve or an oncoming vehicle wouldn't it be nice if you were to turn your brights to low so others won't be blinded by your approach? Or, I don't know, maybe stay within the law?
Or how about when you're driving down the freeway? Why oh why must your lights be bright? On any given day or night on a freeway there is always traffic. If you can't see at night then you need to fix that problem. If you say "big deal, if they don't like it who cares". Well, you will if your bright lights cause someone to have an accident. So, think about how much it will cost you in the long run when all you had to do was dim your damn lights.

Turn signals. This isn't an accessory. It's not there to make your vehicle look pretty or cool. They are there for a reason. And it's the law. Use them people. Don't make everybody guess where you're going.

Doing the speed limit. Yes, I'm guilty of driving over the speed limit but I don't do it very often. However, it seems most people are in a big hurry to get somewhere that will be there at least 3 to 5 seconds later than sooner.
I absolutely hate it when someone rides my ass even when I'm driving the posted speed. Apparently, they have no regard for the speed or the person they are trying to get to go faster. They also have no regard for their own vehicle.
I have seen people drive their vehicles as if it were a weapon and if you don't get out of the way they will use it to hurt you.
Have you people ever stop to think just how expensive this weapon is? Think about it.

Red stop lights. What's that? Stop signs. What are those? And blue headlights. Blue headlights? Those should be outlawed. They're so incredibly bright and deceiving. More and more people are spending a lot of money so they can see better at night but what they aren't realizing(or maybe they are) is that these headlights can make people think that there is a police car approaching at a high rate of speed.
I have almost pulled over to the side of the road because I thought a police car was coming, till I realized it was just some jerk who can't see so they opted for blue headlights. Blue headlights? Seriously, people.

Okay, the cops/police. Come on, is it really necessary to drive fast when you're only going to a restaurant or the police station?
And you can't tell me that every cop, every day or night, is on a call that they have to rush to. I don't and I won't believe it.

Let me give you a different case where cops drive too fast. I always pass by a police substation on my way to work. And almost every night there is at least one or two vehicles that zoom by me just to turn into the station a couple of blocks from where I am on the road.
I know these are not people who are going to the station to report a crime because I've seen these vehicles numerous times. If this happened once, yeah I can understand. But this is almost every time I pass by this place.
POLICE PLEASE SLOW DOWN. By your constant speeding to get nowhere important you're giving joe citizen the right to drive like an idiot.
And you wonder why there are so many accidents?

Grammar

With the rise in texting and e-mails a lot of people have forgotten how to speak properly. Not to mention the sudden lack of physical interaction. Everything is becoming way too distant. But we'll save that for another time. I want to talk about poor grammar.

This isn't something new. Poor grammar has been around for a very long time. I'm guilty of it myself, but I get really peeved at people who use the wrong words for certain things.

Southerners are the worst, that I have seen, basically because I live in the south. I'm sure northerners, mid westerners and so on have their own they can say speak poorly.

Beeins that I am from the south ; ) I will give a few examples of what I'm talking about.

I have come across numerous individuals who think that "growed" is a word. "Blowed" seems to be a common word as well.
Wal Mart is Wal Mark. Bought is brought and brought is bought.

I don't know where these people went to school, if they did, but I would like to slap their English teacher for not doing his or her job.

This has gotten out of hand. The English language has been twisted, destroyed and turned into something that I feel should be unacceptable. But we are living in a society that is more concerned about who their friends are on a social network site and how many texts they can write on any given day.

If I had spoken this way when I was a child I would've gotten in trouble. Nowadays, sadly to say, it's commonplace.

When the children of today become adults of tomorrow life is going to be rough. The majority of them will have carpal tunnel in their thumbs and they won't understand the common word.

But, you know what, I blame their parents. If a parent doesn't know the difference between grown and growed, blown and blowed or bought and brought, then they have no body's ass to kick but themselves.

p.s. I just hit the spellchecker and you might be surprised at what words were spelled incorrectly.

Religion

I'm not a big religious person but I do believe that there must be some kind of higher power. I don't think that this world, or the universe for that matter, was brought to life by the "big bang". But I'll save that for another time. This is about religion and how people perceive it. Not to mention, abuse it.

Throughout history many many wars have been started and fought because of someone's religious beliefs. Man seems to think that God wants us to kill each other in his name. Really?! I think this concept is a bit distorted. Well, a lot distorted.

How can so many people say they love mankind and then turn around and slap someone in the face? How can someone go to church one day and then the next day treat someone like crap?

I am peeved by these hypocrites.

I know a few people who go to church on a regular basis and claim they are "doing God's work". But from what I have seen from these people it makes me wonder if God is really that mean.
Outside of the church they are completely different.

I know this guy who is a pathological liar, but yet he goes to church every Sunday. And there are a couple of women I know that are just downright hateful, but yet they claim they are christian and believe strongly in God's words.

Unfortunately, this is how it is all over the world. Organized religions are nothing but a hiding place for those who do wrong but won't admit it. Organized religions has caused more murders, suicides, terroristic acts, threats, hate, war....you name it.
Is this really what God wanted?
Sadly though, we need these organizations. Why? If we didn't have them this world would be more chaotic than what it already is. It's terrible that so many people have to believe in God more than they believe in themselves. I'm not saying that believing in God is a bad thing. I'm just saying wouldn't God want you to believe in yourself and have faith in the things you do and say?

Anyway, in closing, if you want to know how you can tell that someone is true to their faith..look in their eyes. Sometimes it's kind of scary.

Introduction

Hi, my name is Vett. Yes, Vett. Not Yvette, Avette or even Vetta. What can I say, my parents were weird. I have one sister named Var. Four brothers named Bobby, Billy, Brian and John. No kidding!!!

As strange as this may seem, and as you can see, life has the tendency to throw curveballs. People do, and say, some of the most bizarre things that just make no sense at all. It's a wonder this world has lasted this long.

So, I've decided that instead of taking my peeves out on others I would create a blog. I hear it's therapeutic.

I hope you enjoy and please feel free to comment or even share some of your own peeves.
