Grammar

With the rise in texting and e-mails a lot of people have forgotten how to speak properly. Not to mention the sudden lack of physical interaction. Everything is becoming way too distant. But we'll save that for another time. I want to talk about poor grammar.

This isn't something new. Poor grammar has been around for a very long time. I'm guilty of it myself, but I get really peeved at people who use the wrong words for certain things.

Southerners are the worst, that I have seen, basically because I live in the south. I'm sure northerners, mid westerners and so on have their own they can say speak poorly.

Beeins that I am from the south ; ) I will give a few examples of what I'm talking about.

I have come across numerous individuals who think that "growed" is a word. "Blowed" seems to be a common word as well.
Wal Mart is Wal Mark. Bought is brought and brought is bought.

I don't know where these people went to school, if they did, but I would like to slap their English teacher for not doing his or her job.

This has gotten out of hand. The English language has been twisted, destroyed and turned into something that I feel should be unacceptable. But we are living in a society that is more concerned about who their friends are on a social network site and how many texts they can write on any given day.

If I had spoken this way when I was a child I would've gotten in trouble. Nowadays, sadly to say, it's commonplace.

When the children of today become adults of tomorrow life is going to be rough. The majority of them will have carpal tunnel in their thumbs and they won't understand the common word.

But, you know what, I blame their parents. If a parent doesn't know the difference between grown and growed, blown and blowed or bought and brought, then they have no body's ass to kick but themselves.

p.s. I just hit the spellchecker and you might be surprised at what words were spelled incorrectly.
